He currently lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. His work has been displayed internationally at film and video art festivals, and previously shown on Belgian, Austrian and American television. Found footage in different formats (digital HD, VHS, Super 8, …) is used in a painterly way, smearing images to create abstract, dreamlike landscapes.

Oneiria uses datamoshing, a technique in which digital video images are deliberately made unstable.

These glitches, however, can be a starting point to expand the possibilities of image production in the digital age. Laying some foundation to the datamosh trend, last week Chairlift released this Ray Tintori (Court 13) vid for their track “Evident Utensil.” This is the more home-grown, underground, makeshift and raw use of the effect. I still wish he’d take some Percs or something, but whatever. He’s not afraid to push the envelope, and for that you can’t help but respect his artistic drive. Sure he’s a megalomaniac with Tourette’s, but god damn he’s got some kick ass videos. What Björk is to alt music vids, Kanye West is to hip hop. She argues that the digital era, with its video games, computers, digital effects, and music clips, is more so now than in the 1930s a period of play, a concept.
